DANCING IN SPACE x FREO SOCIAL x SLING SHOT PRESENT

THE PHARCYDE (USA)

Born in South Central Los Angeles, **The Pharcyde** stand alongside A Tribe Called Quest, De La Soul, Pete Rock & CL Smooth, and Gang Starr as one of the defining groups of hip-hop's Golden Era.

Originally formed in 1989, The Pharcyde released their debut album, *Bizarre Ride II The Pharcyde*, in 1992. The record delivered a string of tracks that have since become '90s hip-hop classics, including **“Passin' Me By,” “Ya Mama,” “Soul Flower,” “Otha Fish”** and more.

Their follow-up, *Labcabincalifornia*, arrived in 1996, featuring production from **Jay Dee (J Dilla), Diamond D** and **M-Walk**. The album spawned two iconic singles, **“Runnin'”** and **“Drop,”** with the latter accompanied by its now-legendary video directed by **Spike Jonze**.

With their off-kilter production, sharp lyricism and unmistakable South Central sensibility, The Pharcyde have cemented their place among the godfathers of alternative hip-hop.

This November, they bring the sound of one of hip-hop's most influential eras to **Walyalup.**
