KILAT return home for the Melbourne launch of Tirai Niskala at the John Curtin Hotel, joined by Tongue Dissolver and Blood of a Pomegranate. The second full length album from the Melbourne black metal trio arrives October 10 through W.V. Sorcerer Productions and Disdain Records, pushing their sound into darker territory. Across eight compositions, Tirai Niskala explores Niskala through visceral sonic landscapes, hyper blast beats, tremolo picked full spectrum guitar sonics and dense vocals, bringing atmosphere and invocation into collision with abrasive black metal.

Recorded by Jason Fuller at Goatsound Studios, mixed by Xavier Irvine and mastered by James Plotkin, the album follows 2022 debut Rantai Penjinak and touring across Australia, New Zealand and Asia. This hometown launch brings the album's material to the Curtin stage.

KILAT 'TIRAI NISKALA' ALBUM LAUNCH

The most glorious Halloween jollification this side of the mouth of hell. Live music, cabaret, circus, roving theatrical performances, interactive installations and extravagant costumery.

Victorian Gothic is a world of clandestine underground societies, aristocrats dining on delicacies from underworlds unknown while performing blood rituals in London sewers. Corsets and britches and heaving bosoms, fine suits, top hats, cumberbunds and pocket watches. And all of this of course imbued, garnished and a-cursed with your favourite demonic entities, eldritch gods and other lovecraftian horrors.

Urthboy is bringing his 8th album Reckless Bloom to life the only way that makes sense right now — live and euphorically human. In an era of AI-generated slop and algorithm overlords, he's assembled a 6-piece live band of incredible jazz musicians.

In 2026, Urthboy has a "clarified sense of artistic purpose", refusing to rely on cultural escapism, and separating the art from the politics. Songs like "Offkey" are just waiting to come to life at shows in Sydney, Melbourne, Brisbane and Newcastle. Small gigs, low ticket prices, no gimmicks. Just a band that can actually play, and an audience that comes together for a great night.

URTHBOY 'RECKLESS BLOOM' ALBUM TOUR

“Last of the Natural Light” is the debut album and collaboration project from Billy Gardner & Friends. Recorded sporadically over the past five years, the project began as an attempt to finish a collection of half-written songs, before evolving into a standalone body of work with its own distinct style and sound. The record balances atmosphere and melody with an instinctive warmth, expanding beyond traditional rock music, but without ever abandoning it. There is a distinct influence from the Baroque Pop arrangements of Lee Hazlewood, folk rock earworms of Neil Young, the glitter stomp of T-Rex, the atmospheric soundtracks of Morricone and Moroder or early Eno, but these influences feel less like reference points and more like building blocks.

Backed by a band of some of the finest players in town (Jake Robertson, Mitch Campleman, Rowena Lloyd, Jamie Harmer & Alannah Sawyer), Billy Gardner and Friends will perform songs from “Last of the Natural Light” with various guest vocalists and instrumentalists.

New York Times: “Deceptively understated songwriter”

Aquarium Drunkard: "Krieger sings measured soliloquies recounting her memories, observations, and curiosities straddling the mortal and divine. Finger-picked guitars float like sunlight, illuminating forgotten corners of the universe where Krieger finds inspiration."

Paste: "The NYC singer-songwriter’s fourth album skates with ease between cosmic surrealism and grounded, conversational lyrics, and its poetry is a well-oiled, ghostly apparatus only she sees in full… Krieger’s poetry is a well-oiled, ghostly machine.. and the music it produces is as heartbreakingly mature as inherited antique jewelry."
