Our city's beloved third place for musical exploration is coming to Miscellania!

Goblin Sound System couldn't be prouder to present a very special fundraising event for the home of experimental improvised music Make It Up Club, at the home of community programming.

Multi-floor, multi-disciplinary, multi-dimensional lineup full of DIY experimentation and joy!

We’re bringing together genre-obliterating artists from across the country for an extended showcase of the world class artistic talent that Make It Up Club has nurtured week after week for nearly three decades. 

Expect never-before-heard collaborations, unexpected happenings and performances that will only happen once. The lineup (tba) and has been lovingly curated to honour the spirit of experimentation, improvisation and deep listening at the heart of Make It Up Club.

**Make It Up Club**

Having run for 28 years, Make It Up Club is one of the cities' oldest homes for experimental and improvised music. They are run by volunteer artists, and all the money goes back to the performing artists each week. Unfortunately, the last two years they were unable to secure vital grant support.

We're therefore organising this fundraiser as a way to ensure the continued existence of Make It Up Club and we would love for you to be a part of it!

Make It Up (in the) Club x Goblin

We return to Miscellania for the first OUR HOUSE of the spring season. This edition marks another first as we welcome not one, but two Berlin-based international guests: London-born house purveyor NAT WENDELL and Austrian-born Sisyphos resident ELLI ALTENBERGER.

Deep, soulful and unmistakably groovy, NAT brings together the swing of London’s soundsystem culture, UK garage and the soul of ’90s New York house. ELLI moves freely through house and deep house with playful genre collisions, unexpected turns and a fearless energy behind the decks.

Joining them in the club are APOLETT & ANTWIN from OUR HOUSE, while the rooftop welcomes special Byron Bay guest ADAM SILLARS alongside NACHÖ and SOULFM.
Our House is for the dancers, the selectors, the club kids and the music lovers. A shared space to move freely, lose ourselves in the journey and reconnect through sound. Phones in our pockets. Eyes on each other. Let the dancefloor belong to the music.

Born from queer dancefloor culture and open to everyone who shares its values, Our House is a space built around connection, self-expression and community. A place where the music brings us together.

Jennie Andro Collective and Platform Presents ‘An Ode to Third Spaces’, a fundraising film and performance night for the Indonesian Trans woman support fund and Spider’s Top Surgery with the Titty Choppers team.

A third space is nothing more than an informal public gathering space outside of the home (first space) and work (second space), but people often forget that third spaces do not naturally occur and require active social effort, subtle gatekeeping tactics, and upkeep. Our line up of artists will explore the non-structural, emotionally vivid, flowing, and evocative imagery of third spaces. It is a passionate exclamation to physical and non-physical spaces we have as queer people.

**After Production costs 70% of the revenue from this event will go to two fundraisers.**

the funds will be equally split between the Indonesian Trans woman support fund run by @pelanginusantara_org @bunda_mayora and Spider’s (No.96) Top surgery fundraiser by @spideristrap and the Titty Choppers team

Ever wanted to run your own club night? Maybe you already have, but you're curious about how everyone else does it? We’re pulling back the curtains on independent nightlife in Naarm/Melbourne.

HTTP:// How to throw parties is a FREE panel event facilitated by Ellie Nik (Babie Club), in conversation with local nightlife and live music event promoters to talk getting started, how to be sustainable, logistics and operations, all the things nobody tells you, and the most major rule of all - there are no rules, so you get to make your own.

No more gatekeeping! There's always room for more parties!

NYMPHO's own ATARANGI takes the lead this October for his first solo all night long set in Naarm / Melbourne.

Known for his electrifying spontaneity and unmatched versatility, ATARANGI is a DJ, producer, and community leader who joins a legion of artists across the dance music landscape pushing the sounds of the underground to the forefront of mainstream consciousness. Born in Aotearoa / New Zealand, now based in Naarm / Melbourne, Australia, ATARANGI has cultivated a sound that resonates globally; one that has been touched by many, mastered by few.

ATARANGI has lit up stages across Oceania, performing alongside LSDXOXO, Overmono, Nia Archives, KI/KI, HorsegiirL, and more. From VIVID at the Sydney Opera House to Beyond the Valley, his high-octane sets and boundary-pushing energy continues to leave a mark on the global dance circuit.

After gracing the cover of Mixmag ANZ in 2024, as well as mix releases alongside Dr Dubplate for EC2A, Jyoty, and Chippy Nonstop on Rinse FM, Triple J’s coveted ‘Mix Up’ series, and Aotearoa’s pioneering Friendly Potential Radio on 95BFM, ATARANGI has carved out a lane of his own, cementing his place as a driving force in contemporary club culture.

NYMPHO is a dance-focused queer club night with visual and performance art styles woven into high energy DJ sets. We strive to create a safe, inclusive and transcendent club experience which celebrates gender euphoria, body positivity and sexual liberation. Our kaupapa of lifting up marginalised communities extends from our audience and lineups to our musical philosophies - with genre-diverse sets centred around QBIPOC rooted genres such as techno, house and emergent queer sounds.

NYMPHO Presents: ATARANGI All Night Long

**Gallery returns to the club this October, welcoming Merve, Ayebatonye and Simon TK to Miscellania for a dance built around long sets from some of the country's most distinctive selectors.**

Merve stands among Australia's most distinctive dance music voices, a Naarm/Melbourne native now based in Berlin who moves fluidly across genre without ever losing her own signature. Cutting her teeth as a music programmer and community radio contributor, she's built a career on collapsing the distance between crowd and DJ, curating with a keen ear for pulling old sounds into new context. That approach has carried her from European institutions like Panorama Bar, Off Sonar, De School and Horst Arts & Music Festival to home turf highlights across Strawberry Fields, Pitch, Splendour In The Grass and a 2019 Boiler Room debut later named a top five set by Resident Advisor. In 2025 she launched her own party series arcane, and joined Manchester queer collective High Hoops as a resident, releasing on their 10-year anniversary compilation. With a resume that runs through Eris Drew, Octo Octa, Ben UFO and DJ Pierre, Merve continues to operate in a league of her own.

Ayebatonye is a DJ, artist and writer of Nigerian heritage, Gadigal-born and now Larrakia-based, whose groove-centred, cross-genre sets have made her a mainstay of the Australian scene. Drawing on afro rhythms, deep percussion, house, techno and jersey club, her skill for smooth genre-blending sets an inviting, seductive tone on any floor she plays. She's supported the likes of Honey Dijon, DJ Bone, Underground Resistance and SPFDJ, and played Pitch Music and Art Festival, Dark Mofo and a closing set at Meredith Music Festival. Beyond the booth, she's the former Founder/Creative Director of DIY arts platform Irregular Fit, has exhibited work at the Art Gallery of NSW, the MCA and the Sydney Opera House, and hosts the podcast series Four to the Floor, exploring the Black roots of contemporary music. Her style has also seen her curate soundscapes for Gucci, Calvin Klein and Melbourne Fashion Week.

Simon TK is a multifaceted music operator and true champion of diversity in sound and community, with over a decade of impact across nearly every corner of Melbourne’s scene. An exceptionally versatile DJ, he’s one of those rare selectors who can soundtrack almost any occasion. From psych-rock to psy-trance, rare digs to hands-in-the-air moments, thriving in spaces that challenge people’s perception of reality and identity. He co-founded online radio station Skylab in 2018, and alongside long-term collaborator Edd Fisher has built the now-institutional Wax’o Paradiso, a decade-old events series, DJ duo and now record label.
