FF NEWSROOM Presents:
REALYUNGPHIL
GUD
WOESUM
& STACEY

All the way from the US of A & Stockholm, Sweden, 4 two nights only.

Underground legends and critically acclaimed, all four artists are frequent collaborators on some of the most prolific musical offerings to hit the web/irl.

Connecticut native RealYungPhil's catalogue is a sight for sore eyes. Unmatched output with projects feat. production from Evilgiane, Dylvinci, Gud, Woesum and Stacey. If there's a blueprint for UDG supremacy, he's it.

Gud aka Rooster is a 'Sad boy' hall of famer. His sonics gave birth to a generation. Since then he's been busy carving out his own cultural cranny, handpicking uncut gems from the underground to give us projects like Bladee's 'EXETER' Rx Papi's 'Foreign Exchange' and RealYungPhil's 'Victory Music'. That being said, we still hope he plays his remix of Tinashe's '2 On' and Gucci Mane's 'I'm da shit' from his 'Yung' era.

Woesum is a Swedish producer, artist, and DJ, known for his collaborations with Yung Lean, Bladee, Thaiboy Digital, Namasenda, Coucou Chloe, Kamixlo and more. Beyond his production work for others, Woesum has also carved out a distinct solo career, notably with the 2021 LP, Blue Summer, which showcases collaborations with many of the aforementioned artists and features contributions from Oklou, Ant Wan, and DJ Scream. In 2024, Woesum released the EP, Paradise Tree, contributed production to Bladee's album, Cold Visions, and evilgiane's mixtape, #HEAVENSGATE vol. 1, and executive produced Pretty Sick's alt-rock EP, Streetwise. Woesum's DJ mixes have frequently appeared on NTS, including Felix Lee's Endless, Bala Club, and The Royal Mix with Billy Bool for Bladee radio. Woesum's most recent project, Protected, released on March 14th of last year, which was followed by Protected v2 on September 26th, featuring reworkings from Eurohead, Skin on Skin, and Lauren Duffus.

Stacey is a producer and DJ, blending hip hop and ambient sounds. He's been producing for the likes of RealYungPhil, Jaeychino, Kwes e and Bygdetrapen, while frequently collaborating with Gud and Woesum. He also dropped the 'Far From Home' EP with RealYungPhil last year and has toured with Woesum, DJing across Europe.

**Celebrating 35 Years of Rare Records & 25 Years of the Rare Records Label**
*

Thirty five years is a long time to keep anything alive in the music business.
A record store? That's bordering on miraculous.

Long before streaming, social media and algorithms decided what music you should listen to, record stores were where music fans went looking for something new. The really good ones became something more than just a place full of CDs and T-shirts. They were meeting places, hang outs and information exchanges. It was where people who liked music beyond the mainstream could find each other.

**Rare Records **was one of those places.

**Doug Bear** started Rare Records in Melbourne in 1991 as a mail-order business run from home, which quickly moved to a regular weekend market stall in **Cheltenham**. On February 2, 1996, Rare became a physical record store for the first time when the doors opened in **Hughesdale**. But it was during Rare's years in **St Kilda** that something truly special happened.

From the early to late 2000's, Melbourne's collective of independent heavy, progressive and experimental bands was at its all time high and Rare Records didn't just sell their music, it gave them somewhere to belong. At one point the store carried more than 1000 different independent and local releases. There wasn't an elaborate selection process or someone deciding whether a band was important enough to deserve shelf space either.

If an independent artist wanted Rare Records to stock their CD, Doug put it on the shelf.
Some of those artists started hanging around the shop like it was a scene out of Clerks.

Members of **Karnivool,** **Full Scale**, **Mammal**, **Rook**, **.hinge**, **Bushido** and **Sydonia** became regular visitors. All of them would eventually play inside Rare Records.

Then there were the slightly bigger visitors.

**Lamb Of God **once brought 2200 people to an instore signing, the line stretching downstairs and around the block. They stayed for hours until every fan got what they needed.

**The Mars Volta **wandered in one day and proceeded to spend thousands of dollars on vinyl.

Another day, Doug's friend, legendary Tour Manager, Steve Varga, arrived with the entire **Osbourne** family and every member of **Ozzy Osbourne's** band.

There were appearances and signings from **Stone Sour**, **Mr Bungle**, **Karnivool** and countless others.

But ask Doug about that period now and the international stars aren't necessarily the thing that mattered most. It was the local instores. Bands, friends and kids crammed into a record shop together. Young fans discovering bands in real time because somebody behind the counter pointed them in the right direction. Rare Records became a true community.

And that community looks after its own. Rare Records would go on to be publicly voted Best Record Store by TheMusic.com.au and Best Record Store in Melbourne by Triple M. Recognition that meant more because it came from the people, not the industry.

But some of the musicians coming through Rare had a problem. They were making great music and nobody wanted to release it. Doug was managing several bands at the time and was getting nowhere with the major labels, so, in 2001, he did the logical thing. He started his own!

The first Rare Records label release was **The Grand Silent System's** *They Who Built.*

**Doug's All Time Top 5 Rare Records releases:**
1. **Flow** - The Parallel Development (CD) (The band that became Twelve Foot Ninja)
2. **The Grand Silent System** - Gift Or A Weapon (CD)
3. **Sunk Loto** - Between Birth And Death (VINYL)
4. **Testeagles** - Non Comprehendus (VINYL)
5. **Bushido** - Mercina

The philosophy behind the label wasn't particularly complicated either. Doug heard great music he thought was being criminally underrated, so he used every contact he had to try to get people to hear it. Twenty five years and more than 20 releases later, the Rare Records label is now entering another particularly active period, with 14 releases scheduled over the coming 12 months.

And some of the records from those early years are about to come back too.
Which brings us to **Halloween 2026**.

**35 & STILL ALIVE**
How do you celebrate 35 years of Rare Records and 25 years of its record label?
You start by getting the family back together.

On Halloween, Rare Records will bring **Mammal,** **Sydonia**, **.hinge**, **Bushido** and **Tyson & Forbes **from **Rook / The Khyber Belt** together for one very special night celebrating not simply a record store or record label, but the people and music that grew around them.

For some, it's been a very long time. **.hinge **split in 2010 and will reform their original lineup exclusively for 35 & Still Alive. Doug wasn't even convinced they'd say yes. *"I'm so excited for .hinge because I love their music and they're all bloody great humans. When I asked them to do this I honestly wasn't expecting them to say yes. But to my surprise they did, so happy days!"*

**Sydonia **will return to a Melbourne stage for the first time since supporting Apocalyptica in 2016, appearing with a new guitarist and drummer.

Then there's **Mammal**, whose connection to Rare began before there really was a Mammal. Back in 2005, Zeke Ox walked into Rare Records carrying a three track cassette demo and said "*Have a listen to this*.” At that point Mammal consisted of Zeke and Pete. There was no bass player or drummer yet, the drums on the demo were programmed and Doug believes he was the first person outside the pair to hear it.

Mammal would soon become one of the most important bands emerging from the rapidly growing scene surrounding Rare, making their place at the top of 35 & Still Alive particularly fitting.

**Bushido **return as another important part of that same Rare Records family, while **Tyson & Forbes** will represent **Rook** with special acoustic performances throughout the evening and introduce the night's proceedings. The full Rook lineup couldn't be assembled, with members currently overseas, but there was no way Doug wanted to celebrate this chapter of Rare Records history without them represented.

**THE RECORDS ARE BACK TOO**
The musicians aren't the only things returning. Three records from the Rare Records family will be released on vinyl for the first time ever to coincide with 35 & Still Alive.

**Sydonia -** Given To Destroyers
20th Anniversary Vinyl Edition

**Bushido -** Mercina
20th Anniversary Vinyl Edition

**.Hinge -** Something To Adore
21st Birthday Vinyl Edition

Each release will be strictly limited to 150 copies and available exclusively through Rare Records.

Pre-orders will be available for collection at the show, giving fans the opportunity to have their copies signed by the bands, with a limited quantity also available from a special
**Rare Records pop up store** inside the venue on the night.

There will also be giveaways featuring rarities from previous Rare Records label releases and a **$250 Rare Records gift card **for the best dressed.

After 35 years, countless records, thousands of independent releases, packed instores, international rock stars wandering through the doors, local bands playing between the racks and an entire generation of musicians and fans passing through its various incarnations, Rare Records is still here.

But Halloween isn't really about looking backwards. For Doug, it's much simpler than that, he gets to see his friends again. *"I'm really just looking forward to seeing all my old friends in the same room again. It's going to feel like one giant Brady Bunch family reunion, a room full of old faces, old stories, and hopefully a few new memories to add to the collection.”*

**35 years of Rare Records.
25 years of the Rare Records label.**
Old friends, old records and a few bands we thought we might never see again.

Sip & Sing Australia

Since first emerging from the underground with their distinctive blend of shoegaze, grunge, alternative rock and hardcore, Fleshwater have become one of the most talked-about bands in heavy music. This November, the Massachusetts outfit return to Australia for a national tour following a huge twelve months that has seen them release their acclaimed second album '2000: In Search Of The Endless Sky', tour extensively with Deftones across North America and performing at Coachella 2026!

Their breakout single Linda Claire introduced audiences to a sound that felt both nostalgic and completely contemporary, drawing from the alternative rock and shoegaze movements of the 1990s while injecting it with a modern heaviness and emotional weight all of their own. Their 2022 debut album We're Not Here To Be Loved established the band as far more than a side project, earning a devoted international following and appearances at major festivals including Lollapalooza, Riot Fest, Sound & Fury and Sick New World. Armed with a new album and an even stronger live reputation, Fleshwater return to Australia for what promises to be their biggest local shows to date.

Joining them on all dates are Idaho wrecking crew Ingrown. With their self described 'gun-toting, dirt-bike-riding, hell-raising hardcore' Ingrown have rapidly become one of the most dangerous bands in American heavy music, with their latest album Idaho delivering a relentless barrage of riffs, aggression and attitude.

Opening the tour are Sydney's Secret World, whose mix of hardcore fury and rock'n'roll swagger has made them one of Australia's most exciting emerging acts.

YVES. Australian Tour 2026

Few bands can claim to have redefined a genre. Fewer still can claim to have done it live, night after night, for over two decades. Shapeshifter is one of them: a Christchurch-bred, stage-forged five-piece who have built one of the most enduring careers in New Zealand music and earned their stripes on stages from Auckland to Glastonbury.

Their sound is something they call 'Soul Freakout': a stadium-sized collision of drum & bass, jazz, funk, rock and electronica, anchored to deep bass culture roots. No click tracks, no sequencers, just five musicians who know how to move a crowd.

Seven albums in, three of them platinum, Shapeshifter's music has become the soundtrack to a generation of New Zealand dancefloors. Their 25th anniversary year saw them make history as the first artist ever to place six LPs simultaneously in the Official Aotearoa Top 20 Albums charts, a milestone that speaks to a fanbase who don't just turn up but keep coming back.

In 2026, the band will celebrate the 20th anniversary of Soulstice, their landmark third album and one of the most beloved records in New Zealand electronic music, with a tour across Australia. A celebration of where they came from, and proof of just how far they've gone.

Shapeshifter - 'Soulstice' 20th Anniversary Australian Tour

Critically acclaimed UK rapper Kofi Stone returns to Australia and makes his New Zealand debut this November with his All The Flowers Have Bloomed tour.

Presented by MG Live, Kofi Stone will make his New Zealand debut at Auckland's The Tuning Fork on Saturday 14 November, and kicks off his second Australian tour in Brisbane on Tuesday 17 November at The Brightside, followed by shows at Sydney's Liberty Hall on Friday 20 November, Melbourne's 170 Russell on Saturday 21 November and Perth's Magnet House on Tuesday 24 November.

One of the UK's most vital and respected voices in hip-hop, Kofi Stone is known for his deeply reflective lyricism, storytelling, and fusion of jazz, soul, and hip-hop, carving out a distinct space in British music built on honesty, vulnerability, and self-discovery. Drawing inspiration from his poet grandfather and early exposure to soul, grime and hip-hop, his artistry embodies patience, purpose and authenticity. His recent sold-out UK tour garnered rave reviews with WORDPLAY magazine calling the Birmingham MC, “one of the most opulent poets in a stratosphere of incredible UK rap talent”.

His latest project, All The Flowers Have Bloomed, marks the close of his “mixtape era”, completing a trilogy that began with Nobody Cares Till Everybody Does and A Man After God's Own Heart. A project that showcases Kofi at his creative peak, blending smoky, live instrumentation with poetic introspection and features from Jacob Banks, Maverick Sabre, Ady Suleiman and Tyler Daley (Children of Zeus).

KOFI STONE | ALL THE FLOWERS HAVE BLOOMED

All Nereids (and Australians) Beware, this November Michigan post-hardcore icons **CHIODOS** are set to return to Australian stages for the first time in over a decade, bringing their *All's Well That Ends Well *20th Anniversary Tour down under, joined by special guests **RAIN CITY DRIVE** (USA) and **THE BEAUTIFUL MONUMENT**.

Forming in 2001, **CHIODOS** has remained more than a single moment or scene for decades. Co-founded by frontman Craig Owens, with his raw vocals and confessional fire turning chaos into catharsis, **CHIODOS** would ultimately become a movement buoyed by an adventurous and rule-breaking spirit; a spirit that instantly put them on the map via their 2005 debut album *All's Well That Ends Well*.

Layered with moments of intensity and vulnerability, 2005's *All's Well That Ends Well* established both the disparate and formidable vocal range of Owens while showcasing a mix of frenetic breakdowns, madcap synths, soaring melodies, caustic shrieks and haunting pianos. Introducing enduring fan favourite **CHIODOS **tracks like *Baby You Wouldn't Last a Minute on the Creek* and *The Words "Best Friend" Become Redefined*, with the latter receiving RIAA Gold certification, *All's Well That Ends Well* was genre-defiance at its finest, while also emerging as a landmark record in the scene in the mid 2000s. In 2025, Owens also re-recorded the album in full for its 20th anniversary.

**CHIODOS** emerged from a hiatus in 2024 when they were invited to play When We Were Young. From there, the band amassed sold out tours, including a packed Hollywood Palladium crowd, continuing to grow intergenerational fans singing every word to this very day. Most recently commencing a brand new chapter with the release of their explosive new single *TAPDAT*, **CHIODOS** continue their legacy bigger and better than ever before in 2026, and Australians will be able to witness this first hand this November when the band return down under for the first time since 2015.

A band who could readily soundtrack anything and everything from long drives through to workouts, small club shows and sprawling festival crowds, Florida's own **RAIN CITY DRIVE **have been crafting their immersive trademark sound since releasing their 2020 debut full-length *To Better Days, *which accounts for 40 million streams alone against their eye-watering streaming stats. In a short space of time, the group have toured with Dance Gavin Dance, Our Last Night, Set It Off, From Ashes To New and Memphis May Fire, bridging between heavy riffs and soaring, intimate pop with each new release and captivating live performance. With over one million monthly listeners on Spotify, a collab under their belt with Rory Rodriguez of Dayseeker, Billboard chart rankings and climbing SiriusXM Octane's rotation charts along the way, **RAIN CITY DRIVE** blur boundaries between post hardcore and aggressive melody, primed to enamour Australian once again this year after their debut down under headline tour earlier this year.

Melbourne's **THE BEAUTIFUL MONUMENT** have remained fluent in fusing emotion alongside high-energy and hard-hitting riffs, spanning their 2017 debut album *I'm The Sin* through to the hotly-anticipated upcoming release of their third studio album *Euphoric Thriller*. Boasting a live presence that is equal parts magnetic, raw, vulnerable and powerful, **THE BEAUTIFUL MONUMENT** have shared stages with the likes of Evanescence, Escape The Fate, Short Stack and many more, and continuously share their central message that "it's okay not to be okay", threaded through each album and live performance. In a world that feels heavier than ever, **THE BEAUTIFUL MONUMENT** offer a port in the storm, unifying with catharsis and unforgettable music.
